Women Deserve Your Respect

“Treat older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.”
1 Timothy 5:2

A line of respect and familiarity governs every relationship.  Crossing this line causes misconduct in the relationship.  It is the principle of proximity.  You cannot sin if you keep the proper relational distance.

A Fivestarman is gallant in relationships.  Gallant means “to show special attention and respect toward woman in a honorable way.”  The only woman who gets the intimacy of your eyes and the passion of your loins is your wife. Job said, “I made a solemn pact with myself never to undress a girl with my eyes.”

An authentic man should treat an older woman as if she is his own mother.  We should treat younger women as if they are our daughters.  We should treat our peers as our sisters.  Doing so will not only protect us from inappropriate conduct but will sow seeds of protection for our own family members.

HOW TO TREAT A WOMAN WITH RESPECT

• Open the door for her.
• Stand up to greet her.
• Carry something for her.
• Keep at least two arms distance from her.
• Do not use crass language.
• Do not speak with harsh tones.
• Do not embrace her.
• Do not flirt with her.
• Do not communicate with her outside of proper protocols.

There are many ways this principle should be implemented into your life, especially with modern social networking.  You must be very careful how you communicate with Facebook, Twitter, email, and texting.

During the day, look for ways to treat women with respect and give careful attention to them in an honorable way.
